eBay Off Campus Drive 2023 – Roles and Responsibilities for Senior Customer Service Teammate

  • Handle day-to-day reactive issues with customer email and chat channel.
  • Disclosure can be over the phone.
  • Work according to defined processes and SLA – process for issuing prospects
  • Act as a trusted advisor to sellers and account managers on defect review/removal, review/auction of eMBG cases, technical issues, product issues, and standards and policy issues that may hinder sales growth.
  • Troubleshoot for merchants any eBay-specific impediment to growth and sales (including defect analysis/removal, eMBG case review/action, technical issues, standards, and policy-related issues)
  • Guide merchants that issues and policies won’t impede their business in the future, and help them develop a proactive approach to avoiding them (as opposed to resolving after the fact). Including adoption of standard eBay tools and/or processes
  • Engage with internal partners, consultants, policymakers and technical teams to help with rapid resolution
  • Establish a relationship of trust between eBay and the customer by maintaining a high level of detail and accuracy
  • Share timely findings with the account manager and key stakeholders.
  • Share learning with the team in daily meetings for interesting/unique questions/queries worked on.
  • Be empathetic to customer concerns and demonstrate a sincere desire to serve with ownership until resolution
  • Sometimes use negotiation and influence to advocate for eBay and/or the customer
  • Summarize and provide customer feedback to management
  • Perform related functions as assigned
  • Conduct outreach activities (phone and/or email), including, but not limited to: Outreach to customers with product/policy/education/launch information; Outreach to customers to drive sustainable business growth for high-quality sellers and help maintain a healthy leading seller community. For example, educating customers on policies that may impede their account progress or result in sales being restricted, support correction of infringing listings, sharing best practices for preventing violations, etc.
  • Dealing with complicated escalated cases
